Immortality is life on the spirit plane that needs not to be sustained—it is death-proof. God, the Father of all life is immortal. Jesus, since his death as a perfect human being, has been granted immortality because of his faithfulness. The Apostle Paul calls consecrated Christians "children of God," and, if "faithful unto death,"they will inherit the same nature as their Heavenly Father. “...and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together...” "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." (Romans 8:17-23; Revelation 2:10) "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." (1 Corinthians 15:53,54)
